Threeplusone, Valentino Architects’ three-storey residential block, has been featured on Archdaily, one of the world’s most visited architecture and design blogs, and Archello, an international architecture and product platform. The project, which was completed in 2018, aimed to champion an approach to small-scale residential design characterised by sensitivity, simplicity of form, and utility. It replaced a dilapidated single-storey dwelling sited between two of Malta’s most beloved villages, Balzan and Attard, taking cues from its surrounding context whilst addressing contemporary living needs.

The design for Threeplusone prioritised rationality, simplicity of form, and understated luxury. The project’s intention was to humbly introduce an exemplar approach to local residential design – an advocate for architecture that is both considerate and confident.
