A series of customised display units designed for the retail project Art Diamond, signify a collaborative design venture with Barth, a fifth generation material and furnishing industry leader. Based close to Milan, Italy, Barth are known to work closely with architects and designers to deliver creative, technical interior solutions marked by precision, advising design teams on details for customised furnishings. Following the completion of the store, their team selected Art Diamond as a featured project in their company literature, showcasing a series of jewellery vitrines made exclusively for the diamond store.
Art Diamond’s vitrines were designed to work as diminutive galleries, with each product given its own environment and viewing field. The custom cabinets and plinths also direct users through the store’s distinct zones, converting display units into spatial landmarks. Each vitrine works in service to the store’s overall design ambition – to evoke a museum vernacular in favour of customary retail typologies, favouring diffused light and spacious browsing areas over saturated product display.
