Valentino Architects has achieved outstanding success at the Premju Emanuele Luigi Galizia 2025 Awards, receiving multiple awards across categories and the President’s Award for Best Overall Project.

The practice was awarded the Hospitality Design Award for the Malta International Airport VIP Terminal and the Single Dwelling Design Award for Dar iċ-Ċitru. In recognition of the studio’s consistent quality and breadth of work, the President’s Award was attributed not to a single project but to the practice itself, celebrating its collective achievement across several finalist entries.

Among these finalists were Dar San Rokku (Adaptive Reuse Category) and Stilla San Lazzru Guesthouse (Hospitality Design Category), both reflecting the studio’s continuing sensitivity to context, materiality, and the layered nature of Maltese architecture.

A particular highlight of this year’s awards was the Malta International Airport VIP Terminal, commended for its architectural approach of deconstruction rather than demolition, and its reuse of Maltese stone – a material reinterpreted as both structure and narrative. The project exemplifies the practice’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and continuity through design.

Organised by the Kamra tal-Periti, the Premju Emanuele Luigi Galizia is Malta’s national platform celebrating excellence in the built environment. The 2025 edition recognises projects completed over the past five years, highlighting national themes of housing, heritage, sustainability, infrastructure, and public realm.

This recognition builds on Valentino Architects’ previous success at the Premju Galizia Awards, marking an important moment in the studio’s continuing evolution — reaffirming our commitment to design that balances innovation with a deep respect for place.
